Friday Proms Night

This year we will have a big band again for our Proms Night concert.

The event starts at 7:00 pm

19:30 – 20:30             Swing Machine

20:35 – 21:05

21:10 – 22:00             Swing Machine

‘SWING MACHINE’ is an Ipswich-based big band recreating the much-loved sounds of the 30s, 40s and 50s.

The band has an extensive repertoire rooted in the Swing Era, but also include modern arrangements into their programmes.

Their forte is swing music and they take great delight in playing the music of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Ted Heath, Woody Herman, Duke Ellington and Stan Kenton et al. They have two top-class vocalists who perform both individually and as a duo, covering songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr., etc. Also complementing the band are some fabulous soloists who add the icing on the cake to the arrangements.

While the Band take a break, we have a wonderful female vocalist, Charlene Jean, to entertain you.

Then the band will conclude the evening with a Last Night of the Proms theme as in previous years.

We will provide the flags.

You wave them!
